well speaking of WoW...ive played a LOT of mmorpgs lol but i get bored in like 2 or 3weeks...i played WoW from when it came out to about 7months ago and left that to play GW and its not cause the price. I just prefer GW to WoW since on WoW i got to level 60...got warlord...and basically you do everything and it becomes boring and it wasnt a challenge since its easy once you play it for a while. GW is more challenging, fun and i can keep making more and more characters and not get bored...well factions doesnt count lol id rather die than play that some more lol

I think WoW and GW comparisons are like apples and oranges. Sure they are both roundish but that's about it. I played WoW for all of a month and decided it wasn't for me. For one thing the Fee, whether it equates to approximately the same as buying the expansions for GW as they come out or not, killed it. It's not because I'm cheap but just because with my job I can easily go a month without playing and then what? I either pay for a month I don't use or I'm just boned. The second thing was the cartoonish graphics and the way they blended the PvP and PvE. You end up with jackasses walking around challenging you to duels every fifteen minutes because you happen to be slightly lower in level than them. It's annoying. I think GW was spot on in seperating the two. Granted the number of jackasses differs from server to server but still. The third thing that killed it was the grind. That 100 hours to level is spent doing the same monotonous, boring, god awful crap over and over and over again. At the end of the day you can tell it's a Blizzard production and it stinks of Diablo 2 and it's ilk with the grind. I'm surprised they didn't implement the old hostile system and let people wander around PKing for no apparent reason.

unfortunately, hell a lot of serious WoW players (and most lvl 60's are..) only care about their next goal. They do not take it slow, they want to rush to lvl 70 and go to instances with their guild. Then they try to rush that instance, and get to the next one. same with items. the second they get full tier 2, they go for tier 3. and blizzard just keeps adding items with even higher numbers, and the community loves it and keeps paying.

Wrong. Guild Wars won because it is great.

Ummm... The award inherently compared GW and WoW. While one might think the award a bad joke (Does anyone care what some website says?!? Bueller... Bueller?), when discussing an award for which GW won and WoW (along with Eve) got honorable mention, comparisons would seem de rigueur.
